First Place Acquires New Low-Income Housing Units in 2021
In spite of the tough year adjusting to the difficulties of operating through the COVID-19 pandemic. First Place has started the year off with a great success for our Housing Program.
At the end February 2021, First Place obtained ownership of a two unit duplex in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood. The units have been occupied for several years by tenants who have benefited from Seattle Housing Authority’s Section 8 program.
When the former owner was looking to sell the property, they reached out to a network of providers looking for a buyer who would honor his goal of providing quality low-income housing in Seattle, and continue to maintain the property for low income housing options.
Since 2013 First Place has successfully developed and managed Imani Village, a 16 unit Low Income apartment complex in Seattle’s Central District. The purchase of this duplex was a way for us to continue with our mission of providing much needed safe and secure housing for the least advantaged families. First Place Housing program will manage the property and provide the excellent level of service that our families and clients are used to receiving.
We are happy to welcome the current tenants into the First Place family. This purchase is just the first in an effort to expand our services through Seattle, and the surrounding areas.
